The trend in productivity of labor in the United Arab Emirates from 1991 to 2021 is depicted in figure 3.
A mixed trend can be seen for UAE over the stated period. A period from 1991-2010 can be marked as a period of declining labor productivity whereas an increasing trend is exhibited over 2010-2021.
From 2011 productivity of labor exhibited shown growth, however, in 2020 a little decline is observed in labor productivity.
It is revealed in figure 3 that the global recession in 2009 and the COVID-19 pandemic adversely affect the labor productivity in UAE.
