The trend of the unemployment rate from 1991 to 2021 for the United Arab Emirates is shown in figure 9. It is revealed by the figure that the rate of unemployment fluctuates over time.
The rate of unemployment is showing an increasing trend from 1991 to 2005.
From 2005, it declined sharply and reached 1.64 percent in 2016. It increased to 2.46 percent in 2017.
The rate of unemployment is also influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic as it reached to 3.19 percent in 2020. It further increased in 2021 and reached 3.36 percent.

It is revealed by the figure that the rate of unemployment fluctuates behavior over time.
The trend of the natural rate of unemployment is analogous to the trend of the unemployment rate shown in figure 9.
